CereVasc Hires Tony Kingsley as President & CEO

CereVasc has appointed Tony Kingsley as its new president and CEO, effective today. Former President and CEO Dan Levangie has transitioned to the board chairman role.

Kingsley brings extensive leadership experience and a track record of advancing innovative healthcare companies to the Boston-based company, which is developing novel, minimally invasive treatments for neurological diseases. As president and CEO, he will lead CereVasc’s strategy and operations ahead of the commercial launch of its eShunt System.

According to LinkedIn, he was most recently chief executive at biotech firm Stablix. Before that, Kingsley served as president and CEO of Scholar Rock and TARIS BIO, as well as president and COO of The Medicines Company.

He also held leadership positions at Biogen and Hologic earlier in his career.

As president and CEO, Levangie helped establish the company as a leader in interventional neurosurgery, guiding its growth from an early-stage concept to an alternative to conventional CSF shunting, with over 200 patients treated worldwide. As chairman, he will work with Kingsley, the Board, and the CereVasc leadership team to support a smooth transition and continued momentum.

Earlier this month, the company announced that enrollment was complete in its 32-center pivotal STRIDE trial of eShunt to treat patients with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH). The trial is comparing eShunt head-to-head against the current care standard—the VP shunt—in elderly NPH patients.
